Barnes Construction awarded Ashwell the contract to provide the civil engineering, groundworks and utility packages for the construction of the academy serving the local community in Bury St Edmunds. Phase 2, a new teaching block, was completed in the summer of 2019 within budget and on programme despite potential issues that were mitigated with a collaborative and cost-effective approach from all parties. Phase 3 is due to commence in the autumn of 2019 and planning to mirror completion to time and budget, as in phase 2. Both Phases are valued near to £1.5 million.
